Department Of Health Funded Project To Support Local Small-Scale Services
The National Association of Adult Placement Services (NAAPS) has just received funding from the Department of Health for an innovative project designed to enable local authorities to support community members to provide a range of highly individualised services.
This project is part of the government’s strategy to ensure that people that need support have real choice.
NAAPS has direct knowledge of the barriers to survival faced by individuals and families trying to provide high quality local services. The charity has a long track record in supporting families providing adult placements and will be able to use that experience to the benefit of these other groups of ‘micro providers’.
Sian Lockwood, the Chief Executive of NAAPS, said: “We wholeheartedly share the government’s commitment to ensuring that individualised support and services are available to the people that need them. This project will demonstrate ways in which individuals and families in local communities can be supported to deliver small scale high quality ‘bespoke’ services, providing much more choice to people. We are delighted to be taking forward such an important project on behalf of the Department of Health.”
