County’s Care Staff ‘Can Feel Proud Of Rating’
Adult care services in the Hertfordshire have retained their two-star rating. Inspectors found the Hertfordshire County Council department is “serving most people well with promising prospects for improvement”. The council’s strategic direction, partnership working, and pro-active approach to working with minority ethnic communities were among the aspects singled out for praise.
Councillor Sally Newton, executive member for adult care and health, said: “This is an impressive rating and confirmation that the vital services we deliver in Hertfordshire are of a high standard.
“The rating must also be put into context – the cost of care rises greatly each year and with an ageing population there is an ever-increasing demand on resources. Decisions made by primary care trusts in the county may increase that demand further. With this as a backdrop, staff should feel proud of the services they deliver each day to improve the lives of thousands of people.”
The yearly assessments are carried out by Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI). Ratings go from three to zero stars.
