Foundation Gives Advice On Targets

The Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities has produced guidance to help child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) meet their targets. CAMHS are supposed to provide comprehensive services for all young people, including those with learning difficulties, by the end of the year. The guidance, ‘This is what we want’, consulted young people with disabilities from London.

The guidelines focus on improving five areas for young people: information and rights, care and intervention, pathways on progress, enabling frontline staff, and multi-agency working.

Jill Davies, research programme manager at the foundation, said: “Unless services get their act together they will not meet their target.”
