Old People’s Services Praised by Inspectors

Lambeth’s older people services cater for most of the borough’s elderly well though there is still room for improvement, according to a watchdog report. The report follows an inspection of older people’s services in Lambeth by the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) in March this year.

The council were praised in the report for making progress in planning, commissioning and delivering services as well as tailoring services to meet needs and aspirations of users, though a number of recommendations were made to bring about further improvement.

Councillor Donatus Anyanwu, Lambeth’s cabinet member for health and social care, said:”The findings clearly demonstarate the council’s unwavering committment to continuous service improvement for older people and their carers in Lambeth. In addition to identifying Lambeth’s older peoples services strengths, CSCI’s report also made a number of recommendations to the council for future service improvement.”
