Care UK open three new care homes across East Anglia
July saw a trio of new, state-of-the-art homes added to Care UK’s portfolio of care homes in East Anglia.
The first residents arrived at Cavell Court (pictured) – a new home in Norwich which, when full, will provide comfortable, high quality care for up to 80 older people. In addition, two more homes in Haverhill and Stowmarket, built as part of a contract with Suffolk County Council, held ceremonies with residents and local dignitaries to mark the official openings of the homes.
First to open was Cleves Place in Haverhill which provides nursing, residential and dementia care for up to 60 people. Residents, assisted by the local mayor Councillor Betty McLatchy and Suffolk County Council’s cabinet member for adult care, Councillor Beccy Hopfensperger, cut a ribbon and enjoyed afternoon tea with people from the local community.
This ceremony was quickly followed by one at Cedrus House in Stowmarket – a beautiful new home overlooking a lake which will provide care for 70 people once it’s full. Both Suffolk developments also include day clubs which provide flexible day care services for older people living in their own homes, enabling them to keep active, meet new people, enjoy a tasty two-course lunch and maintain their independence for longer.
Manager of Cavell Court in Norfolk, Anita O’Neill, said: “The team is thrilled to finally welcome residents to their new home. Every last detail here has been considered to create a high quality, luxury environment which will enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives. From the moment they walk through the door, we hope residents and their loved ones will agree Cavell Court is a warm and inviting home from home, specially designed to meet each individual’s day-to-day needs.”
Speaking after the opening event at Cleves Place, Councillor Beccy Hopfensperger, Suffolk County Council’s cabinet member for adult care, said: “It’s fantastic to see Cleves Place officially open. The facility offers both specialised residential care and great day care services that can be flexible and meet the needs of those living in their own homes. Providing good quality care is so important and Cleves Place offers a new, welcoming and homely environment with plenty of activities on offer.”
Including the three new homes mentioned above, Care UK has opened nine new homes in the past 12 months.
