The Learning Disability service in Dundee is a joint Social Work and Health team providing a range of services to adults with a learning disability which include housing support, care at home, respite and day opportunities.
Based at one of the Learning Disability Services within Dundee, you will work full time, 37 hours per week.

You will hold SVQ level 2 or SVQ level 3. You must be willing to undertake training and present for SVQ level 3 and additional qualification relevant to the post as recognised by the Scottish Social Services Council.
You will assist in the day to day management of the resource and be responsible for the care of the service users and supervision of staff. You will be accountable for the management of the resource in the absence of the Team Manager.
You will have experience of working with people with a learning disability and have the ability to predict outcomes and take necessary precautions.
With an off-site manager, you will lead a team of Social Care Workers committed to enabling service users to participate fully. The degree of need for each individual varies significantly and there can be a considerable element of challenging behaviour at times and you must be able to use your own initiative and remain calm in a crisis.
You will be expected to actively participate as part of a team offering a wide range of opportunities to service users in order to help them achieve their full potential. You must be available at short notice and able to work away from home at night.
You will have the ability to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council within a specified time.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
